  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 teaspoons fresh grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • Steak (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 cups cooked day-old rice
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak Sauce: In a bowl, mix soy sauce with cornstarch until smooth. Add white vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Stir well and set aside.
  2. Cook the Steak Bites: Season steak pieces with salt and pepper. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook the steak bites for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the pan. Pour the prepared steak sauce into the pan, then return the steak to the pan and cook until the sauce thickens and coats the steak evenly.
  3. Make the Fried Rice: Heat oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and frozen peas and carrots, cooking until tender. Push the vegetables to one side and scramble the beaten eggs on the other side. Mix in cooked rice, soy sauce, brown sugar, and oyster sauce. Stir until combined and finish by tossing in chopped green onions.
  4. Prepare the Yum Yum Sauce: In a bowl, mix mayonnaise with tomato paste, rice vinegar, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, sugar, garlic powder, melted butter, and water until smooth.
