Saltine Toffee is a deliciously sweet and crunchy treat made with layers of buttery caramel and creamy white chocolate, topped with a hint of cinnamon sugar. This easy-to-make dessert is perfect for sharing at parties or enjoying as a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 40 salted saltine crackers
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Place the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and mix well.
  4. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup unsalted butter with 1 cup brown sugar, bringing it to a boil for about 3 minutes until it turns a deep caramel color. Pour the caramel over the crackers evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-6 minutes until the caramel is bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle 2 cups white chocolate chips over the hot caramel. Let sit for 5 minutes to melt, returning to the oven for 1 minute if necessary.
  7. Spread the melted white chocolate into an even layer with a spatula.
  8. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top while the chocolate is still soft.
  9. Let the toffee cool completely, refrigerating for about 10 minutes to speed up the process. Once set, break into pieces.
