This Cheesy Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes recipe combines the classic flavors of sloppy joes with the deliciousness of cheesy garlic bread. It’s a hearty, comforting dish perfect for any meal. The ground beef is cooked with savory spices and topped with melted mozzarella and sharp cheddar, all served on buttery, garlic-infused Italian bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the Italian bread lengthwise and mix softened unsalted butter with garlic salt. Spread this mixture on the cut sides of the bread.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Drain excess grease. Stir in garlic powder, yellow mustard, ketchup, kosher salt, black pepper, and water. Simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Spread the beef mixture over the bread halves and top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  5. Place the bread on the baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped parsley, slice, and serve hot.
