This Texas Toast Sloppy Joes recipe combines the classic flavors of sloppy joes with crispy garlic Texas toast.   • 11.25 ounces Texas Toast Garlic (8 slices)
  • 2 lbs Ground Beef (80/20)
  • 24 ounces Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
  • 1.31 ounces Sloppy Joe Mix Packet (McCormick)
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Fresh Parsley for topping, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the frozen Texas toast slices evenly. Bake according to the instructions on the box until golden and crispy.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until 90% cooked through. Drain excess grease. Add Sloppy Joe seasoning to the beef and cook until fully done. Pour in Sloppy Joe sauce, stir well, and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Once the Texas toast is baked, remove from the oven. Evenly top each slice with the prepared Sloppy Joe mixture. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over each toast slice. Return to the oven and bake for about 5 minutes, until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
  5. Use a spatula to plate the Texas Toast Sloppy Joes. Optional: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
