Ingredients

Scale
  • 100g chocolate chips or chunks
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 100g plain flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 30g cocoa powder
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 20cm square baking tin with parchment paper.
  2. In a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water, melt the dark chocolate and butter, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and stir until fully combined.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips or chunks.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the tin before cutting into squares.
