1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1/2 cup brown sugar
125g melted butter
1 can (395g) sweetened condensed milk
125g butter
2 tbsp golden syrup
200g dark chocolate
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, desiccated coconut, and brown sugar. Stir in the melted butter until well mixed. Press the mixture evenly into the base of a baking tin.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sweetened condensed milk and golden syrup. Stir continuously until smooth and well combined.
Pour the caramel mixture over the baked base and spread evenly. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the caramel is set.
In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate with the vegetable oil until smooth.
Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
Allow the slice to cool completely before cutting into squares.
