Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chopped semisweet chocolate and butter together in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the sugar mixture, mixing until smooth. Then gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
