Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the cookies are lightly golden brown.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if too thick or more powdered sugar if too thin.
  10. Once the cookies are completely cooled, drizzle or spread the maple icing over the tops of the cookies.
