Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Sift together the flour and baking powder, then set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat 1 cup of sugar and the butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Beat well until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, about ½ cup at a time, mixing until the batter is well blended.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, pierce the cake all over with a fork and let it cool to room temperature.
  8. In a bowl, mix together the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk.
  9. Pour the milk mixture over the cooled cake, allowing it to soak in thoroughly.
  10. In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with the remaining 1 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until thick.
  11. Spread the whipped cream over the top of the soaked cake.
  12. Keep the cake refrigerated until serving.
