Ingredients
Scale
5 eggs
1 cup white sugar
½ cup unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups whole milk
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
Sift together the flour and baking powder, then set aside.
In a large bowl, beat 1 cup of sugar and the butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Beat well until fully incorporated.
Gradually add the flour mixture, about ½ cup at a time, mixing until the batter is well blended.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, pierce the cake all over with a fork and let it cool to room temperature.
In a bowl, mix together the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk.
Pour the milk mixture over the cooled cake, allowing it to soak in thoroughly.
In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with the remaining 1 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until thick.
Spread the whipped cream over the top of the soaked cake.
