Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter until fully melted. Allow it to cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped hazelnuts until evenly distributed.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack.
  4. In a heatproof bowl, add the chocolate chips. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and let it sit for a minute. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  5. Once the brownies are completely cooled, spread the chocolate ganache evenly over the top. Sprinkle the chopped hazelnuts over the ganache. Dust lightly with cocoa powder for an extra touch.
  6. Cut the brownies into squares and serve.
