Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15 oz) box butter pecan cake mix
  • 1 (16 oz) can coconut pecan frosting
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×11-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine butter pecan cake mix, coconut pecan frosting, eggs, oil, and milk. Use an electric mixer to beat the batter until smooth and well blended.
  3. Stir in chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cake from the oven and immediately use the handle end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
  7. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sweetened condensed milk and stir continuously until well combined and heated through.
  8. Stir in the chopped pecans and continue to cook for another minute.
  9. Remove the sauce from heat and slowly pour it over the warm cake, ensuring it fills all the holes and cascades down the sides.
  10. Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving.
