Ingredients

Scale
  • 1214 oz shaved beef steak
  • 8 oz baby bella mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 5 hoagie rolls
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 Tbsp butter, divided
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil, divided
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Slice mushrooms, bell pepper, and onion using your chef's knife on the cutting board.
  2. In a skillet, heat 1 Tbsp butter and 1 Tbsp oil over medium heat. Sauté mushrooms for 2–3 minutes until tender. Remove from skillet.
  3. Add sliced onion and bell pepper to the same skillet. Sauté for about 3 minutes until just softened. Remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and oil over medium-high heat. Cook shaved beef until browned thoroughly.
  5. Return all cooked vegetables back into the skillet with the beef. Stir in salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for another 1–2 minutes to blend flavors.
  6. Place provolone slices over the meat and veggie mixture in the skillet. Turn off heat and cover until cheese melts.
  7. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Spread 2 Tbsp butter across hoagie rolls. Place on a baking sheet and toast until golden brown.
  8. Fill each toasted roll with the flavorful beef, veggie, and melted cheese mixture. Serve hot for a delicious meal!
