This Pepper Steak Recipe features tender sirloin steak stir-fried with colorful bell peppers and onions, all coated in a savory sauce. It’s a quick and delicious meal that pairs perfectly with rice or noodles, making it a satisfying choice for any dinner.

  • 1 ½ pounds sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Season the sliced steak with black pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tbsp of oil over high heat. Add the steak and cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining oil to the skillet. Sauté the onion, bell peppers, and garlic until just tender.
  5. Return the steak to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the sauce mixture and stir until the sauce thickens and everything is well coated.
  6. Serve the pepper steak hot, ideally over rice or noodles.
