A creamy and flavorful satay sauce made with peanut butter, coconut milk, and a blend of spices. Perfect for dipping or drizzling over your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 can (400 ml) coconut milk
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Water (as needed for desired consistency)
  • 1 cup smooth peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the peanut butter, soy sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chili flakes. Stir over low heat until well mixed.
  2. Slowly pour in the coconut milk while stirring to ensure smooth integration.
  3. Keep the sauce on low heat and let it gently simmer. If using fish sauce, stir it in now. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly, about 5-10 minutes, adjusting the consistency with water if needed.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as desired with more chili flakes, lime juice, or brown sugar.
