Wonton Soup is a comforting dish featuring delicate wontons filled with seasoned ground pork, served in a savory chicken broth with fresh bok choy. This delightful soup is perfect for warming up on a chilly day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 200g ground pork
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2 cups bok choy, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground pork, soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, garlic, and ginger. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Place a teaspoon of the pork mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper over the filling to form a triangle, and press the edges to seal. Bring the two opposite corners together and press again to secure.
  3. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the chopped bok choy and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Gently drop the wontons into the boiling broth. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until they float to the surface and the filling is cooked through.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
