Ingredients

1 tsp salt
500g ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp butter
250g mushrooms, sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup cream
1/4 cup beef stock
Salt and pepper to taste
4 burger buns
4 slices Swiss cheese
Lettuce and tomato slices (optional)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined and shape into 4 patties.
Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook patties for 3-4 minutes on each side. In the last minute, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover to melt.
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat, add sliced mushrooms, and cook until golden brown. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Pour in beef stock and let simmer until reduced by half, then stir in cream and cook until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
Toast burger buns if desired, place a patty with melted cheese on each bun, top with mushroom sauce, and add lettuce and tomato slices if using.
Serve the burgers hot with your favorite side dishes.
