3/4 cup buttermilk
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 stick unsalted butter (very cold)
1/2 stick melted salted butter
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
Cut 1 stick of unsalted butter into small pats and freeze for at least 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C).
Stir together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth to make the sauce.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs.
Slowly add buttermilk until dough separates from the bowl sides.
Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness, spread blueberries, knead, and flatten to 1 inch.
Place biscuits in a cast-iron skillet and bake for 10-12 minutes, brushing with melted butter halfway through.
Drizzle sauce over biscuits after baking and let cool slightly before serving.
