  • 2 pounds sirloin steak, cut into strips
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 white onion, sliced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ⅔ cup hot water
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Thinly sliced green onion for garnish (optional)
  • Rice and salad for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and sauté until browned on all sides.
  2. Dissolve the beef bouillon cube in hot water and pour it into the crockpot. Whisk in the cornstarch until fully dissolved.
  3. Stir in soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar into the crockpot mixture. Add the diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the browned steak strips and sliced onions to the crockpot. Mix well to combine.
  5. Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 hours.
  6. About 1 hour before serving, add the sliced bell peppers to the crockpot. Stir well and cook until peppers are tender.
  7. Garnish with thinly sliced green onions, if desired. Serve with a side of rice and a dinner salad.
