Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 egg
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Peanut oil, for frying
  • Butter, for buns
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • Dill pickle slices

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness and cut them in half. Marinate the chicken pieces in dill pickle juice for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, water, and egg. In another bowl, mix the flour, powdered sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, then dip in the milk mixture, and coat again in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat peanut oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Butter the hamburger buns and toast them in a separate pan until golden.
  6. Assemble the sandwiches by placing a piece of fried chicken on each bun, and top with dill pickle slices. Serve immediately.
