This Cabbage Beef Bake combines the savory flavors of ground beef, tender cabbage, and melty cheddar cheese, making it a perfect family meal for any night of the week.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cups cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Spread half of the chopped cabbage evenly in the prepared baking dish. Spoon the beef mixture over the cabbage layer. Sprinkle the cooked rice evenly over the beef. Pour the undrained diced tomatoes over the rice layer. Add the remaining cabbage on top.
  4. Pour the beef broth over the entire dish. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Return the dish to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
