Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups milk
  • Two 3-ounce packages of instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 box yellow or butter cake mix
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons hot water
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Mix the cake mix according to the package directions and bake in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
  2. While the cake is still warm, poke holes one inch apart all over the cake using the back of a wooden spoon. Whisk together the pudding with milk and pour over the warm cake.
  3. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for a couple of hours until the pudding sets.
  4. Scald the heavy cream and butter in the microwave, add semi-sweet chocolate, and stir until smooth. Whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla, adjusting consistency with hot water if necessary.

  6. Slice and serve.
