1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup mustard
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 eggs, beaten
Salt and pepper to taste
For the topping: 1/2 cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon mustard
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, bread crumbs, 1/4 cup ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, minced garlic, beaten eggs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan, shaping it to fit.
In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup ketchup, 1 tablespoon mustard, and brown sugar. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the topping is caramelized.
Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
