  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) Chocolate cake mix
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 cups Confectioners' sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Pecans, chopped
  • 1 Large egg (for crust)
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Whole pecans for topping
  • Caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, melted unsalted butter, and 1 large egg. Mix until well combined and press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add 2 large eggs, unsweetened cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined. Gradually add melted butter, mixing until smooth. Slowly incorporate confectioners' sugar, one cup at a time, until filling is smooth. Stir in chopped pecans and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  4. Pour filling over the crust, spreading evenly. Arrange whole pecans on top. Bake for 40-45 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly gooey.
  5. Remove from oven and cool completely in baking dish. Cut into squares and drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
