This Cherry Cream Cheese Dump Cake is a delightful dessert that combines the sweetness of cherry pie filling with the richness of cream cheese and the crunch of Chessman cookies. Topped with a buttery cake mix, it creates a deliciously easy treat perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans of Cherry Pie Mix
  • 1 bag of Chessman Cookies (approximately 24 cookies)
  • 1 box of Vanilla or Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 1/2 sticks of Butter
  • 8 oz. can of Whipped Cream Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a 9×13 baking dish, arrange Chessman Cookies in a single layer from one end of the dish to the other.
  3. Open the cans of cherry pie filling and spread them evenly over the cookies using a spatula.
  4. Dollop whipped cream cheese all over the cherry pie filling. Gently integrate the cream cheese into the cherry pie filling with a spatula or spoon.
  5. Sprinkle the dry vanilla or yellow cake mix over the top of the cherry filling, ensuring it covers edge to edge.
  6. Slice up 1 and a half sticks of butter thinly and layer the slices evenly over the cake mix. Make sure the butter slices are thin enough to melt into the entire cake mix, adding a bit more around the edges if needed.
  7. Bake the cobbler in the oven for 45-55 minutes or until it's set and the top is golden brown.
