Ingredients

Scale
  • Chicken pieces (legs, thighs, breasts, wings)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup soda (beer or club soda)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. In another bowl, combine the soda, eggs, and milk to create a smooth batter.
  3. Dip each chicken piece into the seasoned flour, then into the batter, and back into the flour for a second coating.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 10-12 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
