  • Leftover mac and cheese or 1 box macaroni and cheese dinner mix
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mac and Cheese: Remove leftover mac and cheese from the refrigerator or prepare boxed macaroni and cheese mix according to directions. Refrigerate for 2 hours until firm.
  2. Form the Balls: Scoop mac and cheese into 1 1/2-inch balls and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Freeze for 1 hour.
  3. Prepare the Coating: In a medium bowl, mix the panko, seasoned bread crumbs, garlic powder, and salt. Crack the eggs into a small bowl and beat them.
  4. Coat the Balls: Remove the mac and cheese balls from the freezer. Dip each ball into the beaten eggs, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture to coat evenly.
  5. Air Fry the Balls: Spray your air fryer basket or tray with nonstick spray. Place the mac and cheese balls in the basket or on the tray, making sure they don't touch. Bake at 350°F for 6 minutes; flip and bake for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy these crispy delights with your favorite dipping sauce!
