  • 1 cup frozen corn kernels, thawed
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet. Drain excess grease.
  2. Melt butter, add flour, then gradually whisk in broth and milk to make a sauce. Simmer until thickened.
  3. Season with onion powder, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and mustard powder.
  4. Stir in corn and uncooked rice, then transfer to a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake covered at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes until rice is tender.
  6. Uncover, stir in 1 cup of cheese until melted, then sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  7. Bake uncovered for 10 more minutes until cheese is golden.
  8. Garnish with parsley before serving, if desired.
