- ½ cup brown sugar

- 4 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp water
- 2 cups milk
- 3 egg yolks
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- pinch salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Peel and slice the apples, then toss them with butter, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a large bowl.
- For the crust, mix flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly, then add ice water until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll out half the dough into a circle and place it in a pie dish. Fill with apple mixture.
- Roll out the second half of the dough and cover the filling; seal edges.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
