Ingredients
- 3/4 cup warm whole milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 large eggs
- 3 1/2 – 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup chopped Italian herbs (sage, oregano, basil, thyme)
- 2 cloves grated garlic
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl fitted with a dough hook, combine warm milk, yeast, and honey. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until bubbly.
- Add eggs, flour (starting with 3 1/2 cups), and salt; mix until incorporated (about 4–5 minutes). Add more flour if necessary for a smooth dough.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for about an hour until doubled in size.
- In another bowl, mix together shredded cheeses, herbs, and grated garlic.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle (12 x 18 inches). Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one long edge to form a log; pinch to seal. Cut in half lengthwise but leave one end intact and twist both halves together.
- Shape into a circle on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover lightly and let rest for another 15 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 30–35 minutes or until golden brown.

Keywords: To enhance your baking experience: Ensure your milk is warm but not hot to activate the yeast without killing it. Knead just enough to develop gluten; avoid overworking the dough for best texture. Allow adequate rise time for maximum flavor.
