Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp
- 1 lb cabbage (about half a head)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice cooking apple vinegar
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/4 cup of water
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine shrimp with soy sauce, rice cooking apple vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and optional black pepper. Marinate for 15-30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add marinated shrimp and stir-fry for about one minute before removing from the pan.
- Add more oil if necessary, then toss in the cabbage and stir-fry for one minute. Add water and cover to steam for two minutes.
- Uncover and continue to stir-fry until cabbage softens. Return the shrimp to the pan along with soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, salt to taste; stir until fully cooked (about 2-3 minutes).
- Serve hot on its own or over steamed rice.
