Orange Cardamom Breakfast Twist

Ingredients

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast

  • ½ cup warm milk

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 egg

  • 4 tbsp butter (softened)

  • ⅓ cup sugar (filling)

  • 2 tbsp butter (filling)

  • 1½ tsp cardamom

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 12 tbsp orange juice (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Bloom yeast in warm milk with sugar.

  2. Mix with flour, egg, butter, salt. Knead until soft.

  3. Let rise 1 hour.

  4. Mix filling: butter, sugar, cardamom, zest.

  5. Roll dough, spread filling, roll and twist.

  6. Second rise 30 mins.

  7. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 mins.

  8. Drizzle with glaze and serve warm.
