  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 12 tbsp milk or cream (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in egg and vanilla extract until combined; then add pumpkin puree and maple syrup, stirring until smooth.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are set. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk or cream, and vanilla until smooth; drizzle over cooled cookies.
