  • 450 grams ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 8 slices low-fat cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 120 millilitres sliced pickles
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper; drain excess fat and let cool slightly.
  3. Soak rice paper sheets in warm water for 15-20 seconds until pliable but not overly soft.
  4. On a clean surface, lay one rice paper sheet flat. Layer with cheddar cheese, about 2-3 tablespoons of the beef mixture, lettuce, and pickles. Fold the sides inward and roll tightly; place seam-side down on prepared tray.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
