  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 34 slices turkey bacon or chopped chicken
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak shallots in cold water for 20 minutes; drain, peel, and halve them.
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, cook turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon, leaving 1 tablespoon of fat.
  3. Add shallots to the same pan, cover with cool water, boil for 5 minutes, then drain.
  4. Return shallots to the skillet; add butter (or olive oil), honey, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Stir until well-coated.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roast shallots for 10–15 minutes until golden brown and glazed.
  6. Sprinkle crispy turkey bacon over the shallots before serving.
