  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2 Tablespoons dark vanilla extract (alcohol-free)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll out the dough and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Prick with a fork and bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. Melt butter and chocolate together over low heat. Stir in sugar, eggs, espresso powder, and oil until combined. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and chocolate chips.
