  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brioche dough according to the Sicilian Brioche recipe, omitting orange zest. Allow it to rise for 3 hours.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a rectangular baking dish with melted butter.
  3. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about 12 x 18 inches. Brush it with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  4. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge and cut it into 12 equal pieces. Place in the prepared baking dish and let rise until touching (about 1 to 1.5 hours).
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. For icing, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; mix in powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is reached.
